Job Description

Role Description The Quality Control Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication is a full-time, on-site role located in New Brighton, PA . This position oversees quality control processes for structural steel fabrication, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes, specifications, and customer requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting fabricated steel components, reviewing drawings and documentation, managing non-conformance reports, and maintaining detailed records for audits and certifications. The role coordinates closely with production, engineering, and project management teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and support timely project delivery. The Quality Control Manager also leads continuous improvement initiatives, trains team members on quality standards, and supports safety and compliance efforts in the shop and yard. Qualifications Experience in structural steel fabrication quality control, including inspection of welds, fit-up, and dimensional accuracy. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop details, specifications, and industry codes (e.g., AISC, AWS). Strong skills in documentation, recordkeeping, and report writing for quality audits and certifications. Proficiency with basic computer tools and quality-related software for tracking inspections and non-conformances. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality issues. Solid understanding of safety practices in a steel fabrication environment and commitment to safe work procedures. Relevant certifications in welding inspection or structural steel quality (CWI) are highly beneficial. Prior experience in commercial, industrial, building, or bridge steel fabrication is preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced shop environment.
Pay:
$51,845.05 - $70,000.00 per year
