Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager to lead the quality function at our Sealy manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting customer quality requirements, overseeing inspection activities, and leading
PPAP/APQP
activities for new products and engineering changes. The ideal candidate has practical experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment and is comfortable working directly with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers. Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System in alignment with
ISO 9001
2015 requirements and company standards.- Lead PPAP and APQP activities for new product launches and engineering changes, including coordination of PSW, ISIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC data, and MSA / Gage R&R documentation.
- Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are understood and incorporated into manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to ensure product conformity to drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Coordinate and support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits; follow up on findings and corrective actions.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, and other functions to resolve quality issues and improve process consistency.
- Monitor key quality issues such as scrap, rework, nonconforming material, and inspection results, and support practical improvement actions.
- Support supplier quality and customer quality matters as needed, including technical communication and follow-up.
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to quality team members and help maintain effective quality procedures, records, and training. Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment; machining, mechanical components, gears, gearboxes, or heavy equipment experience is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality lead, supervisor, or management role.
- Hands-on experience with PPAP and APQP processes.
- Strong working knowledge of
ISO 9001
2015; AS9100 orIATF 16949
experience is a plus.- Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T concepts.
- Working knowledge of
SPC, MSA
/ Gage R&R, PFMEA, and Control Plans.- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Chinese language capability is a plus but not required.
