Quality Control Manager $127M Multi-Year Construction & Renovation Project Build a Landmark Project. Lead Quality from Start to Finish. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to lead all quality control efforts on a high-profile $127 million renovation and vertical construction project in Fairfax, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical leadership role on a complex, multi-year project involving demolition, structural renovations, and new construction. As the Quality Control Manager, you will be the driving force behind project quality, ensuring all work meets contract requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations. Working alongside project executives, managers, and field teams, you'll help deliver a safe, compliant, and exceptional finished product while making a lasting impact on a signature project expected to span three years or more. What You'll Do Quality Program Leadership Develop, implement, and manage the project's comprehensive Quality Control (QC) Program. Serve as the primary quality representative for the project, ensuring compliance with all contractual, local, state, federal, and USACE requirements. Lead quality initiatives across demolition, renovation, restructuring, and new construction activities. Inspections & Compliance Conduct and document the three phases of quality control: preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections. Monitor all field activities to verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes. Oversee quality testing programs and ensure timely resolution of deficiencies and corrective actions. Review and approve project submittals, ensuring materials, equipment, and installation methods meet project standards. Stakeholder Collaboration Attend and contribute to post-award conferences, CQC plan meetings, mutual understanding meetings, and coordination sessions. Lead Construction Quality Control (CQC) meetings and communicate quality expectations to project teams. Partner with project managers, executives, superintendents, subcontractors, and owners to maintain high-quality project execution. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, testing logs, and corrective action documentation. Prepare detailed reports and recommendations related to quality performance and compliance. Review construction documents, identify discrepancies, and provide practical solutions to support project success. Safety & Continuous Improvement Promote a culture of quality and safety by working closely with field teams to maintain OSHA compliance. Identify recurring issues, analyze root causes, and implement process improvements to enhance project performance. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Quality Control Manager on vertical construction projects. Strong understanding of construction quality management principles and QC program implementation. Experience performing inspections and overseeing construction quality assurance activities. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements. Familiarity with USACE Quality Control standards and procedures . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience reviewing and approving construction submittals. Strong understanding of local, state, and federal construction compliance requirements. Certified Quality Control Manager (QCM) certification or equivalent quality certification. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work full-time on-site in Fairfax, VA. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer ( PE ) license and related technical degree. Experience managing quality programs on large-scale renovation and ground-up construction projects. experience serving as a construction inspector or quality professional on complex projects. Experience supporting federal or government construction programs. Knowledge of modern construction technologies, project controls, and quality management systems. Proven ability to identify issues early and implement effective corrective actions. Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence teams and foster accountability. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
