Job Overview:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing quality assurance and inspection processes of products and production activities while assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. The Quality Assurance Manager regularly consults with manufacturing personnel to clearly define standards and report on quality, production, and efficiency issues. This position also functions as an information source to various internal departments and management when special and critical quality issues occur.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Review and evaluate various product tests and assembly processes related to incoming products and packaging. Establish incoming product inspection criteria, create SOPs and documentation for inspection criteria. Assist and train manufacturing personnel in recommended quality control testing and equipment practices. Actively ensure these procedures are being maintained. Support and assist with inspection equipment layout and workflow. Support LEAN Manufacturing processes, measures, and principles. Perform and report on design of experiments, 5S projects throughout facility, aid and audit, and value stream/process mapping exercises. Consult with department to optimize operational procedures and improve overall efficiency and product yields. Report quality concerns within production facilities, warehouses, and market areas as required. Discuss operations evaluation with QA/Process Flow team, make appropriate recommendations, and help set timetable for improvement and corrections. Function as an information source for departments when critical quality issues arise. Assist in development, testing, and implementation of special department projects. Support the implementation and testing of new products and design changes. Effectively communicate with and maintain positive and professional relationships with other managers and departments within FeraDyne Outdoors. Role Model a positive attitude and good work ethic with behavior and decisions consistent with FeraDyne's policies and procedures. Support goals and objectives that coincide with manufacturing and corporate mission and goals. Other duties as assigned by management team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Project Management skills; focus on objective target dates/milestones Interpersonal skills with ability to lead small cross functional teams of varied backgrounds and skill sets Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing concepts and methodologies, 5S, Six Sigma, ISO, A3 Quality and Value Stream Mapping Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, access, outlook) Experience with CAD/3D modeling program Good mechanical and electrical aptitude and mathematical skills Knowledge of machinery and design, production processing and organization Knowledge of archery industry and shooting is also desirable
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in closely related engineering field
  • At least two years of professional quality and process engineering experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment Salary range: $85,000-105,000/year.
