Job Description
Quality Technician•2nd Shift Decatur, AL (Commutable from Huntsville, Madison & Athens)
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company and build a long-term career. Responsibilities Must exhibit a cooperative and flexible attitude. Ability and willingness to work within deadlines consistently and with minimal supervision. Ability and willingness to apply judgment and discretion where appropriate. Must be able to act as a sounding board for Engineers and others prior to decisions. Suggest methods and layouts that result in improved production and workflow. Performs work with a constant awareness of improving processes necessary for growth. Communicates clearly and effectively both verbal and written. Performs first article inspections on sheet-metal parts and assemblies according to written procedures, plans and documents. Interprets engineering drawings and prints with multiple views to verify part/assembly compliance. Uses basic measurement tools to complete inspections (i.e. calipers, tapes, micrometers, pin/plug gages, blocks, indicators, surface plate, etc...) Performs receiving inspections on raw materials as required by established procedures. Maintains records of inspections and analysis completed using quality forms and documents. Verifies in-process audits are being performed and documented. Conducts Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) and correlations studies as required. Performs statistical analysis of data as required. Assists with calibration program by ensuring that all inspection gages are properly maintained, calibrated and in good working order. Assists in processing, developing and implementing corrective actions for the root cause of internal and external process failure modes. Performs key functions in daily, weekly and monthly non-conforming material process, including disposition and data collection. Assists with the internal quality system audit process and performs other duties as assigned. Follows and assists with implementation of all quality policies and procedures defined in the Matthews Industries Quality Policy Manual (QPM) as well as other company-initiated guidelines. Perform all other duties, as assigned.
