Log Quality Inspector Regular Full-Time

If you are detail-oriented and have experience working in an industrial or outdoor environment, we would love to talk to you about joining our Moundville, AL team as a Log Quality Inspector. Day in the Life As a Log Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all incoming log deliveries meet company quality standards. You will inspect each load of logs while trucks are on the scales, verifying specifications and identifying any issues. Your daily work will also include operating mobile equipment, supporting log yard operations, assisting with equipment maintenance, and maintaining accurate log classifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities Inspect each load of logs on the scales to ensure quality and specification requirements are met. Fill in for the Scale Operator and other positions as needed. Safely operate mobile equipment including hydraulic knuckle boom loaders, skid steers, cranes, and forklifts. Perform pre-start-up inspections and operational checks on equipment. Assist with log classification, sorting, and proper storage based on length and grade. Retrieve logs for drying operations and assist with loading shipments of green and dried logs. Provide backup support to crane operations as needed. Identify operational issues and clearly communicate them for resolution. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and assist maintenance personnel when needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the log yard and work areas. Follow all safety policies, including proper use of PPE and adherence to procedures.
