We are seeking a Field Quality Assurance Specialist to serve as the company's eyes and ears in the field. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring every completed installation meets HCR Cabinets' quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with subcontracted installers, builders, homeowners, and internal team members. This position is ideal for someone with experience in cabinet installation, finish carpentry, remodeling, or residential construction who enjoys solving problems, communicating effectively, and ensuring projects are completed the right way the first time. Key Responsibilities As the Field Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring every project is completed accurately, professionally, and according to HCR Cabinets' standards.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct quality assurance inspections after initial installations, final installations, punch-list work, and warranty repairs. Verify cabinetry, trim, hardware, countertops, and related materials have been installed completely and correctly. Ensure products and services provided by HCR Cabinets meet company quality standards. Clearly document the who, what, when, where, and why of every issue so expectations and corrective actions are never unclear. Photograph completed work and installation deficiencies for project documentation. Serve as the primary liaison between subcontracted installation crews and HCR Cabinets team members. Troubleshoot installation concerns and help coordinate timely resolutions. Perform minor cabinet adjustments, touch-ups, and finish repairs when appropriate. Return unused materials, trim, and project surplus to the warehouse. Gather detailed information on problem projects and communicate findings promptly. Verify completion of warranty and punch-list work when photographic confirmation is insufficient. Approve or deny installer payment based on workmanship, project completion, and company quality standards while communicating deficiencies professionally. Maintain exceptional customer service while representing HCR Cabinets on every job site. Routine Responsibilities Weekly Attend the mandatory Monday morning Quality Assurance meeting. Complete and submit the company vehicle inspection report. Review Google Calendar and installer schedules to develop the weekly inspection route while minimizing drive time. Conduct scheduled field inspections throughout the week. Review installer workmanship each Thursday and communicate installer pay approvals or deficiencies. Monthly Submit fuel receipts and approved supply/tool receipts with the required project documentation. Quarterly Verify company vehicle insurance documentation, registration, and required records remain current. As Needed Complete refresher training on cabinet painting and touch-up techniques. Assist management in resolving installation issues involving subcontractors or internal team members. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in cabinet installation, finish carpentry, remodeling, residential construction, or quality assurance. Exceptional attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Strong communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational and documentation abilities. The ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Experience reading construction plans and installation drawings. Basic computer proficiency, including email, scheduling, and digital documentation. The ability to perform minor cabinet adjustments and finish touch-ups. Requirements Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings. Ability to travel daily between project locations. Ability to lift cabinetry components and work in active construction environments. Comfortable climbing ladders and working on residential and commercial job sites.
