Job Description

Laboratory Quality Technician (Entry Level or Level II) Theodore, AL $19-21/hr Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Quality Technician to join a Quality Department at an industrial manufacturing facility in Theodore, AL. This is a contract-to-hire after 6 months. Depending on the candidate's experience, this position will be filled at either the Entry Level (Quality Technician I) or Level II (Specialist Track) Lab Technician. The ideal candidate will perform the tasks required in the lab. We are looking for individuals with a willingness to grow, learn, cross-train, and add value across multiple areas. Reporting to the Quality Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Quality Technician will provide accurate and precise quality data supporting a fast-paced, 24/7 industrial manufacturing operation. Quality Technician I (Entry Level) — $19/hr
Purpose:
Perform routine quality testing, collect samples, maintain equipment, and support production operations while developing a foundational understanding of the company's products, processes, and quality systems. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make or recommend sound decisions Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to communicate effectively to inform, motivate, and present at various levels of the organization Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Knowledge and experience with computer software, including Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to perform physically demanding work, such as moving and lifting equipment and standing for long periods of time Testing and Production Support (70%) Collect, receive, and process production, operations, packaging, and customer samples Perform moisture, color, particle size distribution (PSD), wet retain, density, and coating tests Record and communicate results accurately Follow testing schedules and procedures Department Support (20%) Perform daily instrument verifications Maintain lab cleanliness and inventory Report equipment concerns Growth and Development (10%) Complete required training Learn department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Participate in cross-training Quality Technician II (Specialist Track) — $21/hr
Purpose:
Serve as a technical specialist responsible for maintaining testing accuracy, supporting production, and developing subject matter expertise. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent 1 to 2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment Testing and Production Support (70%) Perform all routine testing independently Troubleshoot testing and process issues Support Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations Department Support (20%) Own assigned equipment Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs) and calibrations Growth and Development (10%) Train Quality Technician I employees Support audits and customer sample requests Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
