Job Description

Laboratory Quality Technician (Entry Level or Level II) Theodore, AL $19-21/hr Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Quality Technician to join a Quality Department at an industrial manufacturing facility in Theodore, AL. This is a contract-to-hire after 6 months. Depending on the candidate's experience, this position will be filled at either the Entry Level (Quality Technician I) or Level II (Specialist Track) Lab Technician. The ideal candidate will perform the tasks required in the lab. We are looking for individuals with a willingness to grow, learn, cross-train, and add value across multiple areas. Reporting to the Quality Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Quality Technician will provide accurate and precise quality data supporting a fast-paced, 24/7 industrial manufacturing operation. Quality Technician I (Entry Level) — $19/hr
Purpose:
Perform routine quality testing, collect samples, maintain equipment, and support production operations while developing a foundational understanding of the company's products, processes, and quality systems. RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentAbility to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make or recommend sound decisionsExcellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively to inform, motivate, and present at various levels of the organizationStrong attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsKnowledge and experience with computer software, including Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to perform physically demanding work, such as moving and lifting equipment and standing for long periods of timeTesting and Production Support (70%)Collect, receive, and process production, operations, packaging, and customer samplesPerform moisture, color, particle size distribution (PSD), wet retain, density, and coating testsRecord and communicate results accuratelyFollow testing schedules and proceduresDepartment Support (20%)Perform daily instrument verificationsMaintain lab cleanliness and inventoryReport equipment concernsGrowth and Development (10%)Complete required trainingLearn department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Participate in cross-training Quality Technician II (Specialist Track) — $21/hr
Purpose:
Serve as a technical specialist responsible for maintaining testing accuracy, supporting production, and developing subject matter expertise.
