The role splits between the desk and the lab: most of the day is spent producing technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator; the rest is spent inspecting and testing physical product samples and documenting the results. What you'll do Redraw vendor-supplied technical drawings into our standard format in Adobe Illustrator, with accurate dimensions, tolerances, callouts and parts tables; check and file the finished PDFs. Verify drawings against physical samples and release the final version. Perform basic physical tests and dimensional inspections on product samples using standard hand measuring tools; photograph, record and write up results in clear summary reports. Prepare quality documentation from inspection data using basic statistics. Maintain lab logs and inventory records. Answer specification and part-number questions from internal teams and prepare simple comparisons of alternative components. Occasional basic 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and file exports for 3D printing. Requirements 2+ years producing dimensioned technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator (or similar), plus Adobe Acrobat. Able to read mechanical engineering drawings: cross-sections, tolerances, metric units. Comfortable using calipers, scales and similar tools and documenting test results. Microsoft Word and Excel; clear written English. Detail-oriented, organized and fast; accuracy matters more than artistic style. Able to work on-site full-time; some light physical work. Nice to have Experience with manufactured or molded components. SolidWorks or other 3D CAD; 3D printing. Ability to read a second language on technical documents. Exposure to quality documentation or standardized test methods. How to apply Include 2 to 3 samples of dimensioned technical drawings you have produced. Shortlisted candidates will complete a short drawing exercise and an in-person walkthrough.
