Job Description

Job Summary:
The role of Polyester Quality Control Technician includes, but is not limited to, all phases of product sampling and testing. This includes in-process reactor test and adjustment, thin tank/blend tank testing and adjustment instructions to production operators to meet final product specifications. Lab Technicians shall enter all final properties into SAP and generate a Certificate Of Analysis. The technicians will also perform any special testing required by the Polyester Plant Technical Manager. Technicians must be able to work an 8-hour/5 day or 12-hour/7 day rotating shift depending on the production work schedule. This individual must possess good interpersonal, communications, problem solving, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Maintain inventory of finished goods retains. Have a firm commitment to safety, the environment and must have the understanding that product quality is critical to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sampling, testing and adjustments of thin tanks and blend tanks (55%) Data entry in SAP (15%) Sampling and testing of in-process reactions (10%) Generate, verify and distribute product batch tickets (10%) Housekeeping (5%) Verify incoming raw materials (5%)
Preferred Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess strong communication and math skills as well as the ability to work in team based environment. Must have prior chemical handling/testing experience with prior quality control/quality assurance experience a plus. Must have working knowledge of SAP; familiarity with
ISO 9000/9001
standards a plus. Must pay attention to detail and a desire to solve problems.
Pay:
$34.12 - $38.15 per hour
