Inspector Mechanical The Mechanical Inspector performs inspection activities on a variety of manufactured aviation parts and other precision machined components. S/he is responsible to ensure full compliance to product requirements with the end in mind of providing Manufacturing customers with first-time, quality, on-time delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Inspector reads and interprets materials, such as work orders, inspection manuals, and blueprints, to determine inspection and test procedures. S/he uses technology and tools to inspect materials, products, and work in progress for conformance to specifications. S/he tests and measures finished products and assemblies for functioning, operations, accuracy or assembly to verify adherence to functional specifications. S/he marks items for acceptance or rejection, records test results and inspection data, and compares findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards. S/he discards or rejects products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. S/he confers with vendors and others regarding inspection results, recommends corrective procedures, and compiles reports of results, recommendations, and needed repairs. S/he prepares reports and maintains inspection records in accordance with Quality standards and requirements. S/he is also responsible to secure and maintain supplier quality information and documentation and other information for use in production verification. From time to time, the Mechanical Inspector may perform other duties or participate in various projects in support of manufacturing operations, as required. Requirements for
Success:
High School Diploma CMM's or Articulated portable CMMs and MBD (Model Based Definition) inspection 5+ years of related Quality Engineering and Inspection experience in electronics, aerospace, or similar environment with a quality system such as ISO Proficient with Verisurf, MBD/DPD, Mastercam X7 CAD/CAM and Shoptech E2 or similar ERP platform Proficient with calibration and use of a variety of inspection tools and equipment Proficiency with
