Job Description
Quality Inspector I - Electronics Manufacturing | Carlsbad, CA | 1st Shift | $24-$26/hr NEOTech is hiring a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our electronics manufacturing team in Carlsbad. You'll inspect product throughout the production process, with a focus on SMT, Wave Soldering, and Selective Soldering, and help the team ship assemblies that meet IPC workmanship standards and customer requirements. If you have strong attention to detail, enjoy hands-on work with electronic assemblies, and take pride in helping a team produce high-quality product, we want to hear from you. We're also open to training and certifying the right candidate. What you'll do Perform in-process inspections on products moving through the work cell, especially SMT, Wave Soldering, and Selective Soldering operations Inspect assemblies for conformance to
IPC-A-610, J-STD-001
through 006, IPC-600, and company workmanship standards Verify that materials, components, and finished products meet required specifications Conduct visual inspections and measurement tests using calipers, pin gauges, feeler gauges, height gauges, and stereo microscope Document inspection results in required reports, logs, and quality records Identify and communicate quality concerns promptly to Production Supervisors, Leads, and Engineering Approve finished product that meets requirements; return product for rework and confirm rework is completed properly Support control of non-conforming materials and assemblies Follow ESD, board handling, and moisture-sensitive device (MSD) handling requirements Support ISO Quality Management System standards for quality, safety, environment, and health What we're looking for 3+ years inspecting, measuring, and monitoring incoming, in-process, and finished electronic product Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 andJ-STD-001
(note: assembly certification alone does not qualify as inspection certification) Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and stereo microscope inspection Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Planner Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently and on a team High school diploma or equivalent Nice to have IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-600 inspector certification Experience with automated measuring equipment (CyberScan, CMM) GD&T experience First Article Inspection (AS9102) report generation Familiarity with JEDEC JESD9C andMIL-STD-883
