JOB SUMMARY
Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of processes, materials and products. Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, and/or integration to assure the quality of products. Complies and maintains control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Participates in customer, Nadcap and other third party audits. Conducts and maintains First Article Inspection Reports. Conducts Internal and Supplier audits to ensure compliance with all requirements, and coordinates audit schedule. Monitors quality objectives and prepares reports for review as required. Assigns and follows up corrective actions. Monitors delinquent corrective actions and coordinates follow-up with appropriate personnel as required. Participates in customer complaint resolution, RMA root cause and corrective action. Conducts quality training as required. Completes Customer surveys and questionnaires.
Maintains Quality Records:
Customer Industry Agency Coordinates supplier scorecard distribution Coordinates new supplier audit and required documentation. Coordinates with manufacturing & engineering on improvement projects. Performs quality engineering reviews of blueprint drawings and inspection documents for compliance with stated requirements. During EO process, confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents. Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares documentation modifications as required. Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments. Verifies that all manufacturing documentation reflects the latest specification revisions and maintains related files. Generates and performs engineering changes (ECO's) to work orders. OTHER COMPETENCIES
Language Skills:
Ability to read and analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be computer literate have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school. Two (2) years experience and/or training in an aerospace manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
