$27/hour Position Summary The Inspector will perform diversified inspection and calibration support activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, quality standards, and customer specifications. This role utilizes engineering drawings, process specifications, material certifications, test reports, and customer documentation to inspect and verify purchased parts, in-house manufactured components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and final deliverable units. The position is responsible for creating First Article Inspections (FAI) using AS9102 forms, performing complex part inspections using CMM and standard inspection gauges, documenting nonconforming material, and supporting calibration activities. The individual must be able to accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications and work in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. This role also supports calibration processes by managing inspection and test equipment, coordinating recalibration with external suppliers, and working closely with internal teams. The candidate must be willing and able to train and qualify as an FAA ODA unit member. Essential Functions Perform general inspection work across multiple inspection areas, including: Receiving inspection First Article Inspection (FAI) using AS9102 forms In-process inspection across multiple product lines Final and shipping inspection Inspection tool and equipment management to ensure calibration compliance Follow work assignments and technical direction provided by the Inspection Lead. Apply company inspection procedures and work instructions; recommend improvements when appropriate. Measure and inspect parts to verify dimensional accuracy using standard and advanced inspection tools, including CMM equipment. Test units for specification conformance using required measurement and test equipment. Approve acceptable parts and complete all required inspection documentation. Generate and maintain Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs), clearly documenting discrepancies, determining responsibility, and initiating disposition as required. Review and work from engineering drawings, process specifications, customer drawings, and test procedures. Maintain accurate inspection and quality records in accordance with established procedures. Scan and upload quality certifications and documentation into the EPICOR system on a daily basis. Support calibration activities by tracking equipment status, coordinating recalibration, and working with internal teams and external calibration providers. Interact professionally with operators, leads, managers, and outside suppliers. Perform other related duties as assigned. Role Qualifications
Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience or exposure to mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques. Proficiency in the use of precision measuring equipment, including but not limited to: Micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, rulers Hardness testers, radius gauges, and levels Romer Arm and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) systems Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a quality-driven environment.
