Job Description
- Job Title: Quality Specialist
- Job Description
- Join our team as a Quality Specialist, where you will ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements in a high-reliability manufacturing environment. You will track and assess quality performance metrics and facilitate root cause analysis investigations.
- Responsibilities
- + Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
+ Ensure correct interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
+ Review and approve inspection results, FAIRs, and Test Result Reports.
+ Work with management to determine product acceptability when issues arise.
+ Manage returns and nonconforming material reports (NCMRs/NCRs).
+ Lead or support root cause analysis using methods like 5 Whys.
+ Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
+ Coordinate MRB activity, including use-as-is, repair, rework, and scrap.
+ Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and internal procedures.
+ Maintain and enforce documented procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
+ Support certifications, audits, and surveillance visits.
+ Ensure proper document control and revision usage on the floor.
+ Act as the primary quality contact for customers and vendors.
+ Support customer audits, escapes, and formal responses.
+ Review supplier quality performance and improvement plans with management.
+ Track and report KPIs such as scrap and rework, audit findings, and customer escapes.
+ Use quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
+ Partner with Operations and Engineering on process improvements.
+ Provide real-time support to production when questions arise.
+ Interpret specifications and resolve quality hurdles quickly.
+ Balance compliance with production flow to ensure on-time delivery.
+ Escalate risks before they become customer issues.
+ Walk the floor to verify process adherence.
+ Answer questions about product shipment readiness.
- Essential Skills
- + Proficiency in quality assurance and quality control. + Experience with AS9100 standards. + Audit and inspection expertise. + Familiarity with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite. + Intermediate arithmetic and geometry skills. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + 3-5 years of experience in quality systems, inspection, and products. + High School Diploma.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Familiarity with CMMC is preferred. + Ability to adapt to changing requirements. + Willingness to perform other duties when necessary. + Strong communication skills with employees, customers, and vendors.

- Work Environment
- Work the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm in a small manufacturing facility with about 15-20 people. This setting fosters a tight-knit team atmosphere, where you will play a key role in enhancing products like ShockTape™, designed for lightning protection in aerospace and wind energy sectors.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $33.
65 - $36.06/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
