Job Description
Blair Engineering, a precision turbomachinery manufacturer based in San Luis Obispo, is hiring a hands-on Dimensional Quality Inspector to support our growing shop. About the Role This is a shop-floor, hands-on inspection role working directly with machinists and engineering to ensure parts meet tight tolerances before moving to the next stage. This is not primarily a quality systems, document control, or administrative QA role. What You'll Do Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished machined components Verify compliance with blueprints and tight tolerances (GD&T preferred) Use micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, indicators, and height gauges Perform first article inspections Identify and document non-conformances Review Material Test Reports (MTRs) Work with machinists to catch issues early and keep production moving Maintain a clean and organized inspection area What We're Looking For Quality inspection experience in manufacturing Proficient with standard precision measuring tools Strong blueprint reading skills (GD&T preferred) Experience inspecting precision machined parts (not electronics) Detail-oriented and reliable Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs Experience in CNC machining environments preferred
