Role Overview We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented In-Process Inspector to join our manufacturing team at Hughes Circuits Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for performing in-process inspections and verifying product quality throughout various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. You will work closely with production personnel, engineers, and the quality team to identify issues early, support corrective actions, and contribute to the consistent and reliable manufacture of high-quality electronic assemblies. Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections of electronic assemblies, including PCBAs, SMT, thru-hole, and final assembly
- Set up and operate AOI machines to detect PCB defects and ensure product quality
- Operate 2D/3D industrial X-ray systems and analyze images for solder defects, voids, opens, shorts, and alignment issues
- Follow radiation safety protocols, EHS requirements, and company safety policies
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, job orders, and customer specifications
- Use hand tools, test lights, and microscopes for detailed inspections
- Inspect solder joints for defects such as bridges, cold solder, voids, insufficient solder, and tombstoning
- Verify component placement, polarity, orientation, and part numbers against assembly drawings and BOMs
- Conduct first article inspections on new or revised builds
- Perform or verify flying probe, functional testing, and continuity checks
- Identify cosmetic defects, such as scratches, contamination, or damaged components
- Ensure inspection and test equipment is calibrated and within certification
- Document inspection results, key dimensions, and traceability information in MES systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate quick-turn assemblies
- Inspect to IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001) and escalate critical defects to management
- Provide feedback to production teams regarding assembly accuracy and quality issues
- Maintain ESD controls and a clean, organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards
- Follow all company policies and procedures

S. citizen or permanent resident Understanding of electronics and quality processes Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools Knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 and/or
IPC-A-610
standards for electronic assembly Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies Understanding of PCB assembly processes and techniques Familiarity with basic electronic components and their functions Other Skills and Cultural Fit Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team Positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it to enhance performance
Compensation and Benefits Pay:
