QC Inspector 1 (2rd Shift) 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars
Summary of Job Duties:
Inspectors perform Q.C. inspections for In-Process and/or Finished Goods, bulk manufactured product, packaging components and labels according to established company specifications and production guide requirements. Perform QC Inspection (MFG-PKG) as needed and assist with various administrative and investigative tasks in the Quality Department. The position requires a great team attitude and the ability to make decisions and dispositions regarding product acceptability in a fast-paced environment. Inspector I In-Process or Finished Goods is Inspector is the entry level and trainee class.
Specific Job Duties:
Utilizes critical thinking that comes from experience and an ability to resolve issues with little supervision. Inspect, document and issue disposition instructions on production orders for tablets, capsules, powders, liquids, and labels. Inspect, document, pre-approve and issue disposition instructions regarding production order and Batch Records, and MMR, Travelers documents. Inspect products using established policies, procedures, and acceptable quality limits (AQL) for specific criteria, including correct bulk, packaging components, labels, size, weight, and pH as required per product specifications. Release batches of tablets, capsules, powders, or liquids to Distribution if product passes inspection. Issue corrective instructions, such as requires rework if an order fails criteria on appropriate report forms and in databases. Investigate and assist Production personnel regarding product or process failures and determining their origin and cause, report recommendations to Management. Interact with Packaging, Manufacturing, QA and Quality Control Departments on observations and corrections needed to comply with cGMP. Assisting with maintenance of specification databases, and other shared product status tracking data & spreadsheets. Provide strong team support by coordinating daily with QC personnel on other shifts, communicating meeting status and issues. Assist in the weekly reporting of inspection activities to support QC metrics and continuous improvement of processes. Participate as a fully engaged member of a high performance, self-directed work team to achieve Department and company goals. Overtime for this position is mandatory. Perform all other tasks as assigned by Threshold management.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
1. High School Diploma or GED 2. Good verbal and written communication skills. 3. Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. 4. 20/20 or corrected vision. 5. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long period of times. 6. Self-starter with the ability to learn and grow with changing role needs, able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a strong work ethic. 7. Ability to maintain efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. 8. Willingness to maintain full self-accountability, accountability as a team, and to integrate constructive criticism. Skills and/or
Experience Desired:
1. Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or other inspection experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment. 2. Understanding of industrial safety guidelines, federal standards, and following SOPs. 3. Experience working in a warehouse environment, use of powered equipment such as walkie-stackers, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts, and/or troubleshooting problems with machinery. 4. Experience with water treatment and testing methods and/or experience using handheld water testing meters. 5. Experience with Navision software or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. 6. Experience using handheld water testing meters. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
