Job Description

Electrical Engineer - High Voltage / X-Ray Systems Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of high-voltage systems used in x-ray tubes, integrated sources, and voltage multipliers. This role involves hands-on work with both analog and digital electronics, with a strong emphasis on grounding, noise mitigation, and system reliability in high-voltage environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across design, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support, and can collaborate effectively with internal teams, high-voltage power supply partners, and customers to deliver robust, compliant solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and evaluate electrical circuits and systems for high-voltage applications, including voltage multipliers and x-ray source integration Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis of analog and digital circuits in high-voltage environments Develop and implement best practices for grounding, shielding, and noise reduction to ensure stable system performance Analyze and mitigate surge events, conducted emissions, and susceptibility issues Collaborate with high-voltage power supply manufacturers and customers to define system requirements and ensure compatibility Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and transition to manufacturing Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and technical documentation Conduct electrical testing using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, high-voltage probes, etc.) Assist in failure analysis, corrective actions, and continuous product improvement initiatives Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., ISO9001, CE, IEC61000) Participate in internal audits, compliance testing, and certification efforts Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and service teams Interface with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design and troubleshooting Experience working with high-voltage systems (kV range preferred) Solid understanding of grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC principles Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and technical drawings Hands-on experience with standard electrical test equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Experience with x-ray tubes, x-ray generators, or high-voltage power systems Familiarity with voltage multiplier design and high-voltage insulation techniques Knowledge of surge suppression, transient protection, and conducted immunity Experience with compliance standards such as CE, IEC61000, or similar EMC regulations Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE-based tools, MATLAB) Familiarity with PCB design tools and layout considerations for high-voltage systems Experience supporting products through regulatory certification Working Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed in both office and laboratory/manufacturing environments Regular interaction with high-voltage equipment and x-ray producing devices Use of appropriate safety equipment is required Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs with or without assistance Occasional travel may be required for customer or supplier support Why Join Us Work on advanced high-voltage and x-ray technologies Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team Direct impact on product performance and customer success Opportunities for hands-on engineering and technical growth Additional Notes This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and engineering rigor.
