Job Description Launch your career in construction by becoming a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Technician, where every test you perform helps ensure the safety and durability of roads, bridges, buildings, and other critical infrastructure. Success in this role comes from a sharp eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay organized while following precise testing standards. Core Responsibilities Perform materials testing to determine the physical properties of construction materials, including aggregate, concrete, soil, and asphalt mixtures. Travel to the Lakewood laboratory to conduct construction materials testing. Perform testing services for producers, contractors, developers, and owners on materials being used in construction projects. Conduct laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and industry standards. Accurately document and report test results. Maintain testing equipment and ensure a safe and organized laboratory environment. Obtain and maintain required industry certifications necessary to perform testing activities. Perform assigned testing duties in compliance with quality, safety, and certification requirements. You'll thrive here if you have No degree required; a science background and proficient math skills are required. High school diploma or equivalent accepted as the minimum education requirement. Bachelor's degree in a related science field is preferred. Entry-level position; no prior experience required. Demonstrate strong timeliness, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to calculate and apply typical formulas used in laboratory testing. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred. Obtain and maintain industry certifications as required, including certifications through the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association (CAPA), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC). Work on-site daily at the Lakewood laboratory; no travel required. Maintain a positive attitude and commitment to the company's safety culture.
