Job Description

Nesco Resource is looking for a 2 nd Shift Honing Inspector located in Bethel, CT. This is a temp to perm position for the right candidate.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 3PM-11
PM Pay:
$19/hour (+12% shift differential)
Position Overview:
The Honing Inspector is responsible for inspecting precision-machined components produced through honing and related manufacturing processes. This position ensures finished parts meet dimensional, visual, and quality requirements by performing detailed inspections using precision measuring equipment. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment. Qualifications Previous experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or machining environment Experience inspecting precision-machined components preferred Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications Strong understanding of dimensional measurements and tolerances Experience using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, pin gauges, and optical/measuring equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or dimensional inconsistencies Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document inspection results Ability to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a clean, quality-controlled manufacturing environment Experience with honing, grinding, tubing, or other precision manufacturing processes is a plus Duties & Responsibilities Inspect honed and precision-machined components to ensure they meet established specifications and quality requirements Perform dimensional inspections using a variety of precision measuring instruments Verify inside diameters, outside diameters, lengths, wall thicknesses, surface conditions, and other critical dimensions Inspect parts for visual defects, damage, burrs, scratches, and other quality concerns Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records Identify and communicate non-conforming material or production issues Work closely with production personnel to address quality concerns and prevent recurring issues Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required Assist with identifying trends or recurring dimensional issues within the honing process Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained and handled Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the department Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled inspection/work area Perform other quality and inspection responsibilities as needed Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
