Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Inspector to join our manufacturing quality assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other measuring instruments to ensure products meet stringent quality standards. This role is essential in maintaining compliance with industry regulations such as
AS9100, ISO
9001, and ISO 13485, particularly within aerospace and medical device manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in CMM programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical inspection techniques, contributing to the continuous improvement of our quality assurance processes. Duties Conduct detailed dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including PC-DMIS or similar software. Program and operate CMM equipment to perform accurate measurements aligned with engineering specifications. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements. Utilize various measuring instruments such as height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and height gauges to verify dimensions. Perform mechanical blueprint interpretation and ensure parts conform to design specifications and quality standards. Document inspection results accurately, generate detailed reports, and communicate findings to production teams. Support calibration of measuring instruments to maintain measurement accuracy. Assist in root cause analysis for non-conformances and collaborate on corrective actions. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards and quality management systems like ISO 9001, AS9100, and
ISO 13485.
Participate in internal audits and support continuous process improvements within the quality department. Qualifications Proven experience as a CMM Inspector or Quality Inspector within aerospace or medical device manufacturing environments. Proficiency in CMM programming using PC-DMIS or Calypso software. Strong understanding of quality control principles, including dimensional inspection, blueprint reading, GD&T, and measurement techniques. Familiarity with quality standards such as
AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO
13485, and relevant ASME codes & standards. Experience with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, calipers, and schematics. Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) for interpreting technical drawings. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. Mechanical aptitude with experience in machining or manufacturing processes is preferred. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for problem-solving. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and document inspection results clearly.
