Spherion is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join a precision manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This position involves performing visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of precision parts, components, welds, sub-assemblies, and completed assemblies. This is a great opportunity for candidates with quality inspection or manufacturing experience, as well as individuals with mechanical aptitude who are interested in developing their technical inspection skills. Training is available.
Responsibilities:
Perform visual, mechanical, electronic, and dimensional inspections of production parts and components.
Inspect castings, forgings, machined parts, rings, welds, sub-assemblies, and completed assemblies.
Locate datums and reference points on castings, forgings, and other components.
Verify machining accuracy and part dimensions according to blueprints and specifications.
Mark guidelines and reference points for material removal through machining, manual work, or etching.
Conduct floor and machine inspections involving lathes, laser machines, water jets, vertical boring mills, and radial drills.
Perform bench inspections using precision measuring equipment. ...
Inspect welds visually and dimensionally before fluorescent penetrant testing.
Identify non-conforming parts and document inspection findings.
Prepare rework procedures when required.
Complete inspection reports and related documentation.
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing quality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

3:30 PM - 12:00
AM Skills:
Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, machining, CNC, or assembly.
Experience using precision measuring tools such as:
Calipers
Micrometers
Height gages
Depth gages
Indicators
Thread gages
Cylindrical plugs
PI tapes
Decimal scales
Scribes
Familiarity with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or automated measuring equipment.
Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of dimensional inspection and machining processes.
Experience inspecting welds, castings, forgings, or machined components.
Previous experience documenting non-conforming material or rework requirements.
Education:
High School Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without current or future sponsorship.
Ability to perform work subject to
ITAR/EAR
regulations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
Ability to communicate effectively and complete routine reports and documentation.
Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while following required PPE and safety procedures.
Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
