The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and performing precise dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision measuring instruments to ensure products meet strict quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of quality control processes, GD&T, blueprint reading, and manufacturing specifications, with an emphasis on maintaining compliance with industry standards such as
AS9100, ISO
9001, and
ISO 13485.
Responsibilities Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) including ZONE3 (or similar) software to perform detailed dimensional inspections of manufactured parts. Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as CMMs, tool scopes, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to verify part dimensions against engineering drawings and schematics. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine inspection criteria. Ensure all parts conform to ASME codes & standards, AS9100, ISO 9001, and
ISO 13485
requirements for quality management systems. Document inspection results accurately and generate detailed reports for quality records. Collaborate with manufacturing and machining teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Prepare documentation needed for FAI and PPAP requirements based on customer specifications. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications Proven experience programming CMM equipment, preferably with ZONE3, or similar, software. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and dimensional inspection techniques. Familiarity with quality standards such as
AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO
13485, and ASME codes & standards. Ability to interpret schematics and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills in math and measurement accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment dedicated to quality excellence.
