A Quality Inspector inspects and evaluates products according to company quality control standards. Inspects goods or packaging in a production or manufacturing facility.
Quality Control Lead - Glass Manufacturing Architectural Glass Industries, LLC is a full-service glass tempering, manufacturing, and fabrication company specializing in high-quality architectural glass products. We are seeking a full-time Quality Control Lead to oversee the day-to-day operation of our final quality control and wrapping area. This is a hands-on lead position, not a management role. The Quality Control Lead will actively inspect, measure, wrap, and stage finished glass while taking primary responsibility for ensuring products meet AGI's quality standards before they leave our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform final inspection of finished glass products for defects, accuracy, and workmanship. Verify glass dimensions, thickness, glass type, edgework, holes, notches, cutouts, finishes, tempering requirements, quantities, and other work-order specifications. Inspect glass for scratches, chips, clams, edge defects, and other quality concerns. Review work orders and production paperwork to ensure the finished product matches customer requirements. Identify and hold products that do not meet AGI quality standards and communicate required rework or remakes to production. Maintain accurate QC documentation and inspection records. Oversee the daily workflow of the QC and wrapping area. Help prioritize completed orders based on production and delivery schedules. Provide direction to an additional QC/wrapping employee when assigned to the department. Communicate quality concerns and recurring issues to production leadership. Properly wrap, protect, label, and stage completed glass for delivery. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized QC and wrapping area. Help reinforce AGI's quality standards and procedures throughout production.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently identify defects or inconsistencies. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic measurements. Comfortable reading work orders, drawings, and specifications. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities. Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally. Dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for final product quality. Previous quality control or manufacturing experience preferred. Previous glass fabrication, tempering, construction, metal fabrication, stone, window/door, or similar manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required. Willingness and ability to learn AGI's glass quality standards and manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and work on a manufacturing floor for the majority of the workday. Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle glass products of varying sizes and weights. Ability to work around manufacturing equipment while following all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Job Requirements:
Ability to understand and communicate work instructions and safety requirements in English. Basic math skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check required.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
Compensation:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
