Position Overview Meyer Gage Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Calibration Technician / Quality Inspector to join our calibration department. This position is responsible for inspecting and calibrating precision pin gages and other fixed-limit gages while maintaining accurate records and supporting our ISO 17025 and
ISO 9001
quality systems. Key Responsibilities Calibrate applicable fixed-limit gages, which may include pin gages, plug gages, ring gages, trilocks, taperlocks, and master setting dics. Operate calibration equipment, including Pratt & Whitney Labmaster systems and Aeroel/Xactum laser micrometers. Enter calibration readings and maintain complete, accurate records in IndySoft calibration management software. Review calibration results, certificates, tolerances, test points, and measurement uncertainty information for accuracy before release. Follow proper gage cleaning, handling, temperature-stabilization, preservation, and storage practices. Identify and document out-of-tolerance conditions, discrepancies, and nonconforming equipment. Maintain traceability of standards and verify that calibration equipment is within its required calibration interval before use. Support internal and external ISO/IEC 17025 and
ISO 9001
audits, including record preparation, answering auditor questions, and assisting with corrective actions. Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, safety requirements, and laboratory environmental controls. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional laboratory workspace. Work with other laboratory personnel to review and approve completed calibration work when required. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and
ISO 9001
requirements, including experience supporting audits. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written calibration procedures consistently. Ability to read decimal measurements, interpret tolerances, and perform basic measurement-related math. Comfort using computers and entering accurate technical data. Ability to handle precision gages and measuring equipment carefully. Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of experience in calibration, quality inspection, precision manufacturing, or a related field. Experience calibrating pin gages or other fixed-limit gages. Experience with Pratt & Whitney Labmaster equipment, Aeroel/Xactum laser micrometers, or IndySoft software. Familiarity with measurement uncertainty, traceability, calibration certificates, and nonconforming-work processes. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work in a temperature-controlled laboratory environment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform careful, repetitive measurement tasks.
