Quality Inspector - Aviation Position Title Quality Inspector Department Quality Assurance Reports To Quality Manager Position Summary The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that aircraft, components, materials, and maintenance activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements, FAA regulations, and applicable industry standards. This role performs inspections throughout the maintenance and production process to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft, components, and assemblies. Verify compliance with FAA regulations, customer specifications, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and company quality procedures. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using calibrated measuring equipment. Review maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved data and regulatory requirements. Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or workmanship. Initiate and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when quality issues arise. Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Verify calibration status of inspection and test equipment. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineering, production, and management to resolve quality concerns. Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and safety. Maintain a safe and organized work environment while adhering to company safety policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1year aviation quality inspection or aircraft maintenance experience. Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aviation quality standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and technical specifications. Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic maintenance record systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications AS9100 and/or
ISO 9001
quality management system experience. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and Root Cause Analysis. Familiarity with inspection software and ERP/MRO systems. #pro123
