About the Role American Aero is looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Brooklet, GA. This position is responsible for inspecting and testing precision aerospace components and assemblies to ensure they meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and industry quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace inspection , is comfortable reading blueprints and GD&T, and has strong attention to detail. This is an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the products we manufacture. What You'll Do Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts and assemblies Inspect components using precision measurement equipment, including: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges CMMs Optical comparators and other inspection equipment Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements Verify parts meet dimensional, visual, and quality requirements Accurately document inspection results, test results, and quality records Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) Identify and communicate quality issues and non-conforming materials Work with production and quality leadership to investigate quality issues Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities Verify calibration status of inspection equipment before use Maintain inspection tools and equipment properly Support internal and external quality audits Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify opportunities for quality and process improvements Follow company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards

What We're Looking For Required:

High school diploma or equivalent 2-5 years of Quality Inspector experience in an aerospace, precision manufacturing, or similar environment Strong understanding of GD&T Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Experience using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to accurately identify colors, color variations, markings, coatings, wiring, and other visual characteristics required for quality inspection

Preferred:

Experience in aerospace manufacturing Experience with AS9100 and AS9102 Experience with CMM equipment Experience with optical comparators Experience with a Quality Management System (QMS) Technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, quality, or engineering ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) IPC-A-610 or other aerospace/defense industry certification CMM programming or operation certification Physical & Work Environment Manufacturing and inspection floor environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to perform detailed visual inspections Exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, and varying temperatures PPE is required as appropriate for the work environment Why Join American Aero?
