Job Description

Job Summary:
As a member of the Quality Assurance department you will assure the receiving of quality products by inspecting and grading ingredients and materials purchased and shall help identify quality issues. Responsibilities Responsible to comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management System with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption Comply with DATW Quality Assurance Manual and purchased product specifications to ensure that the correct procedure and/or specification are used in grading product for manufacturing use. Responsible for the grading of incoming frozen, dry and liquid ingredients, including packaging materials Collect samples of product and grade for defects, color, character and size according to product specifications and procedures. Perform inspections for foreign material as part of the grading process Pull product samples for microbiological and pesticide analysis according to procedures. Notify DATW Quality Assurance management of quality issues. Follow safety procedures and practices. Follow company policies and procedures. Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) in the laboratory and on the production floor. Complete and monitor Quality Control Receiving records. Keep work area in a clean orderly fashion. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisors and management. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager.
Qualifications Qualifications:
Must have High School diploma (college experience a plus) Laboratory experience a plus, but not required Basic computer skills a plus. Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
Work Environment:
Industrial plant environment with related noise and temperature.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT) Temperatures range from 40° to 50° degree Fahrenheit Noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 92 decibels Must be able to climb stairs up to 20ft daily Must be able to do repetitive movements of, reaching forward up to 24", pushing & pulling an average weight of 5-10 lbs. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete and/or metal grating Requires climbing, standing, stooping, twisting, lifting and other physical movements to perform job Flexibility to work different shifts and days when required All qualified applicants will receive consideration or employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability.
