Job Title:
Quality Assurance Technician (3rd Shift) Job Description The Quality Assurance Technician on 3rd shift plays a key role in ensuring that products meet strict quality standards for the healthcare and medical device industries. Working primarily in a laboratory setting with regular interaction on the production floor, this role focuses on mechanical testing, visual inspection, color matching, and accurate documentation to support a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform mechanical tests on products and materials Conduct detailed visual inspections using a ruler Perform color matching to verify that products meet required color specifications. Conduct leak tests and tensile tests to validate product integrity and performance. Use a ruler and other measuring tools to ensure packaging print is in the correct location. Identify defects in products and materials with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Document all tests performed, results obtained, and defects found Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Obtain samples from the manufacturing floor multiple times per shift Support compliance with
ISO 9001
standards and internal quality assurance processes. Essential Skills 2+ years experience or strong ability in quality inspection, quality control, or quality assurance activities. Ability to perform accurate visual inspections, including reading and using a ruler for precise measurements. Capability to conduct mechanical tests, leak tests, and tensile testing following standard procedures. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work. Good documentation skills for recording outputs from production machines and test results. Ability to accurately match colors and distinguish color differences for color matching tasks. Familiarity with working in a laboratory or production environment under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Comfort working around production equipment and industrial products in a manufacturing setting. Ability to walk and stand for most of the shift while moving between the lab and production floor. Willingness to work 3rd shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. ISO 9001
standards and Good Manufacturing Practices, supporting the production of engineered flexible materials for the healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and life sciences sectors. The environment is fragrance-free, and phones are not allowed in the lab. Team members walk and stand for most of the shift, frequently traveling between the lab and the production floor to collect and test samples. The technician remains with each sample from start to finish, ensuring complete oversight of the testing process. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed shoes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
