Job Description

Quality Control Inspector 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm determined by hiring manager) The Quality Control Inspector is a critical position that ensures that metal fabricated, and precision machined components meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality specifications. This role involves inspecting parts, interpreting drawings and specifications, using precision measuring tools, documenting results, and supporting continuous improvement in the manufacturing process. Responsible For:
Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly with engineering personnel Discuss inspection results with those responsible Report inspection data and assist with root cause analysis Key Tasks and Responsibilities Inspect and measure materials or products being produced against engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards Spot checks, sampling, and 100% inspections as needed. Measure products with CMM, calipers, gauges, or micrometers Accept or reject raw materials, in-process and final products prior to shipment Disposition products and materials that fail to meet specifications Non-conformance creation and maintenance Maintain Inspection records including creating FAI and PPAP reports Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and management regarding quality issues or discrepancies. Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities to resolve quality concerns. Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards (as required). Help maintain calibration and proper care of inspection equipment. Promote and support a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the shop floor. Essential Skills Required Read and understand blueprints and industry specifications GD&T (Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing) Proficient use of dimensional inspection tools such as micrometer, caliper, fixed and adjustable gauges such as height gages, ring gauges, plug gauges, radius gauges, CMM use.
