Lockport, IL Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Multi Machine Fabrication Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining multiple fabrication machines to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in machine operation, precision measurement, and metal fabrication will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of advanced equipment, including CNC laser cutters, press brakes, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and welding tools, contributing directly to the creation of precision-engineered products. Responsibilities Operate multiple fabrication machines such as CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, press brakes, stamping presses, and welding equipment to produce metal parts according to technical specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to set up and run machinery effectively. Program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software to ensure precise machining operations. Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters for various fabrication processes while maintaining safety protocols. Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and measurement tools to verify dimensions and ensure product conformity. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Follow safety standards in production environments by adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Use hand tools and forming machines for sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks as needed. Maintain detailed records of production activities, machine settings, measurements, and quality inspections for traceability. Qualifications Proven experience operating multiple manufacturing machines such as CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC mills/lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, welding equipment, and forming machines. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency in CNC programming and understanding of G-code or other programming languages used in machining. Familiarity with measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools for quality control. Knowledge of shop math including basic calculations required for machining setups and measurements. Ability to follow safety standards rigorously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot machine issues promptly. Mechanical aptitude with experience in metal fabrication techniques such as welding, forming, stamping, and sheet metal work. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly about technical processes and quality expectations.
