Job Description:
Job Description Position Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Technician with hands-on experience in metal manufacturing and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) . This role is critical in ensuring that products such as manifolds, spindles, jacks, hubs , and other precision metal components meet internal and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing inspections, preparing PPAP documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal components using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM). Prepare and submit complete PPAP packages (Levels 1-5) in accordance with customer and industry requirements. Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure product compliance. Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined and fabricated metal parts. Maintain and update quality documentation including control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams. Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer audits). Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures. Monitor and report on quality metrics and trends.
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or quality preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality role within a metal manufacturing environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of PPAP documentation and submission processes. Familiarity with machining processes, metal fabrication, and mechanical components. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T. Experience with quality tools such as Control Plans, FMEA, Gage R&R, and SPC. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality management systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
standards. Knowledge of metallurgy and surface finish requirements. Familiarity with ERP and QMS software systems. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally required to stand for long periods of time. Ability to handle materials safely. Frequently required to utilize wrist, hand and finger dexterity.

Pay & Benefits Rate:
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the hourly payrate for this position is $23.00-$27.00. This payrate is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
