Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying that construction, fabrication, installation, and testing activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, industry codes, and Fluor quality standards. The role performs inspections of mechanical and electrical systems, documents quality findings, supports testing and commissioning activities, and ensures work is completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform quality inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment, materials, and construction activities. Verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, standards, and inspection test plans (ITPs). Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities for industrial and power projects. Review quality documentation, inspection reports, test records, and turnover packages. Identify and document non-conformances and assist in corrective action resolution. Coordinate with construction, engineering, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues. Ensure adherence to Fluor QA/QC procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare daily and weekly quality reports.
Qualifications:
Experience in QA/QC inspection on industrial, power generation, oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction projects. Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, testing procedures, and commissioning activities. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, NEC/NFPA, NETA, or applicable project codes. Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Mechanical equipment inspection, piping, welding, and pressure systems. Electrical equipment inspection, cable installation, switchgear, motors, and power distribution systems. Quality documentation, turnover packages, and inspection test plans (ITPs). Commissioning and startup support experience.
