Shift:
Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Kennametal has an immediate opening for a dependable Quality Technician to work at its manufacturing site located in Albany, IN. The facility is a very clean, climate-controlled, state of the art and organized shop - many machines that you will work on are less than 10-years old. Several employees enjoy 20+ years of experience at the facility and are eager to share their knowledge of the organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing company that offers highly competitive pay, excellent benefits and generous paid time off.
Responsibilities:
  • Incoming inspection of Customer supplied components using precision instruments and handheld X-ray gun for material identification
  • Perform visual inspection of post brazed components
  • Perform and document critical dimensions after brazing cycle or machining operations
  • Document non-conformances and notify quality manager of discrepancies
  • Perform final inspection and ensure products meet customer specifications. Complete inspection paperwork in Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Some hand grinding will be required for testing and production work
  • Gage calibration
Skills:
  • Experience in quality assurance/inspection within manufacturing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - word, excel, access
  • Experience using precision instruments - micrometers, calipers, bore gauges
  • Familiar with GD&T tolerances
  • Experience with gage calibration
  • Blueprint reading and understanding
