Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and monitoring products, materials, and production processes to ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role helps identify quality issues, supports corrective actions, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:
Primary Job Duties:

Perform and document a variety of chemical tests on incoming raw materials and blended products (pH, viscosity, manual and auto titrations, solids, specific gravity, spectrophotometer, etc.). Maintain laboratory equipment, solutions, standards and perform calibrations Inspect, identify and document conformance of packaging requirements for finished goods. Identify and document nonconformances and communicate issues to production leadership and quality team Maintain accurate inspection records and support traceability and documentation for regulatory compliance Prepare small retain samples of all approved batches, and dispose of outdated retain samples. Wear and maintain all personal protective equipment as directed. Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, and notify the purchasing department when supply levels are low. Work with chemists to identify corrective action on non-conforming products. Maintain a neat and clean work area. Print labels, formulas, and safety data sheets as needed. Follow all safety protocols and participate in all assigned training and committees. Treat and release waste water as directed by chemists. Sample, test, document and monitor water quality Document temperature monitoring for equipment and across facility Perform process, product and facility inspections Participate in internal ISO audits Create COAs Create lab batches/samples for customers Assist chemists with testing/investigations Complete projects or tasks as assigned to continually improve the quality department as a whole or improve the lab.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to read, understand, and fluently speak the English language in order to follow hazard warnings, instructions, and safety announcements. Computer proficiency is required. Must be able to perform simple algebra calculations. Practical understanding of General Chemistry Ability to complete inspections and testing in a timely manner Work independently and prioritize multiple inspections/tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining safety and quality standards, be service oriented, and contribute to continuous improvement environment Ability to have positive working relationship with production and management personnel Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

Standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50#. Must have visual acuity to distinguish color (to perform certain chemical tests). Must have olfactory ability to distinguish fragrances and odors (to complete quality inspections). Must be able to hear emergency announcements, verbal instructions, and forklift warning signals.
