This position performs general labor duties, assists with maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and ensures recyclable and reusable materials are separated from incoming waste streams. Employees in this role work around heavy equipment, processing machinery, and the public. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sort construction and demolition materials including wood, metal, cardboard, concrete, drywall, plastics, and other recyclable materials. Remove contaminants and non-processable materials from incoming loads. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, housekeeping, and debris removal. Assist with unloading, processing, and handling incoming materials. Direct customers and contractors to designated unloading areas when necessary. Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, drivers, visitors, and coworkers. Follow all facility safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Remain alert and aware of equipment movement, truck traffic, and facility operations at all times. Assist with facility maintenance and other labor duties as assigned by management. Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazardous materials immediately. Qualifications Ability to perform physically demanding labor in indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to follow instructions and maintain a positive attitude. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing.
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 50.0 per week
