Earth Breeze is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Lead to help ensure the quality, safety, and consistency of our products, while also providing hands on leadership, training, and guidance to our QC Technicians on the floor This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and dependable. Someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and who will coach and mentor the people around them. You'll thrive in this position if you're comfortable working independently, guiding others, and speaking up when something needs attention. As a QC Lead reporting to the QC Supervisor, you'll work side by side with the QC Techs in the quality lab and out on the production floor to make sure procedures are being performed correctly and consistently, and that the team is properly trained. You'll perform key quality checks yourself, which include viscosity, pH, stir plate, and moisture testing, while also assessing how the rest of the team is executing their duties, coaching them in real time and identifying trends that need to be communicated to the QA Supervisor. Responsibilities:
As a QC Lead at Earth Breeze, you will… Team Leadership & Training Work side by side with QC Technicians in the quality lab and out on the production floor, observing and guiding their performance of daily and weekly duties. Ensure QC Technicians are properly trained on department procedures and are performing them correctly and consistently. Assess technician performance, identify gaps in knowledge or technique, and provide real-time coaching and correction. Onboard and train new QC Technicians on procedures, equipment, and documentation practices. Serve as the go to resource for QC Technicians' questions during your shift. Quality Testing & Monitoring Perform and record quality control tests including viscosity, pH levels, stir plate/mixing assessments, and moisture content. Conduct retention checks and log results accurately. Identify and communicate any out-of-spec results, trends, or anomalies promptly. Trend Monitoring & Communication Actively watch for trends across the QC department, quality lab, and production floor. Such as recurring issues, technician performance patterns, or process shifts. Communicate observed trends and floor level concerns clearly and promptly to the QA Supervisor. Escalate out of spec results or nonconformances immediately rather than holding them for a later report. Data Management Accurately document and enter test results into logs, forms, and databases. Track and identify production trends or shifts over time. Collaboration & Communication Partner with production team members to ensure parameters, specifications, and procedures are consistently met. Clearly communicate any quality concerns or deviations from standard process. Participate in cross functional meetings or updates as required. Workplace Monitoring & Safety Regularly monitor the quality lab and production floor to ensure safety protocols are followed. Verify that team members are wearing proper PPE and report any safety concerns or violations. Reinforce company safety and hygiene policies as needed. General Expectations Maintain a high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality. Be punctual, reliable, and accountable for all scheduled shifts. Lead by example, working both independently and collaboratively to help the team achieve production and quality goals. Uphold and model company values around quality, communication, and safety.
About You:
You have… Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an analytical mindset. Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, or informally leading others. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally across teams, including up to leadership. A collaborative spirit and appreciation for safety and sustainability in manufacturing environments. The confidence to coach and redirect peers respectfully and constructively. A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work and to help others do the same.
Experience:
You bring… High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or technical training in a related field preferred. Previous experience in a quality control or manufacturing environment required; prior leadership, training, or mentoring experience strongly preferred. Working understanding of laboratory testing procedures and tools. Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry. Ability to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, and guide others in doing the same.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
