Job Description

About the Role Mid South Extrusion is hiring a Shift Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Monroe, Louisiana. You'll validate that finished goods meet dimension, thickness, blend, and tolerance specifications, run standardized material testing, and help control non-conforming raw materials and finished goods on your shift. This role also keeps the Quality Lab clean, organized, and audit-ready, and requires close coordination with the on-coming shift to keep testing and documentation on track around the clock. Schedule
  • 4-crew rotating shift schedule
  • 12-hour shifts: 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m.
  • Rotates from days to nights (and vice versa) every 28 days
  • Seven-day work cycle with alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks
  • Requires work on weekends and holidays; some overtime is required
  • Attendance at mandatory safety and quality meetings is required What You'll Do
  • Read Job Travelers and Engineering PDFs to manufacture finished goods to internal or customer specifications
  • Complete Product Validation forms and log results using an MSE Surface tablet and the Quality One Drive
  • Safely operate a forklift once licensed, and maintain a working knowledge of all production line blenders and silo locations
  • Conduct standardized material testing (gauge profile, tensile, elongation, Elmendorf tear, dart impact, haze, opacity, shrink, melt flow index, sheet weight, gloss, and more) per

  • Log, document, and report test results accurately to senior management via the Quality One Drive
  • Help control non-conforming raw materials and finished goods, and confirm products are packaged per SOP
  • Create customer-required Certificates of Analysis and accurately label and store sample retains
  • Maintain the Quality Lab and testing equipment in clean, calibrated, working order
  • Use Word, Excel, Outlook, Epicor, and Monday.com to manage and communicate testing data
  • Review the shift schedule, communicate with the on-coming shift, and submit a daily shift summary report
  • Support Food Safety efforts through environmental testing What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; willingness to learn Epicor and Monday.com
  • Willingness to obtain an MSE-issued forklift license
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing, documentation, and reporting
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow all workplace safety procedures
