Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Welding Inspector to join our manufacturing team. Hours are 2:30 PM to 11 PM, with overtime Monday to Friday. This role is essential in ensuring that all welded components meet the highest quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and adhere to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in quality assurance processes, and proficiency with various measuring instruments and inspection systems. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining product integrity, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Duties Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of welded assemblies using precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Interpret mechanical blueprints, manufacturing documents, and technical specifications to verify weld quality and adherence to design requirements. Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods where applicable to assess weld integrity without damaging components. Ensure compliance with relevant standards including
ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA
regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and HACCP protocols. Document inspection results accurately, generate detailed reports, and maintain comprehensive records for traceability and audits. Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Conduct regular quality audits within the manufacturing process to verify adherence to quality management systems. Utilize vision inspection systems and other advanced measurement tools for precise dimensional assessments. Support calibration procedures for measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, and GDMs to ensure measurement accuracy. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes and overall product quality. Skills Extensive knowledge of welding inspection techniques and quality assurance practices within manufacturing environments. Proficient in calibrating and using measuring instruments, including calipers, height gauges, GDMs, and vision inspection systems. Familiarity with industry standards such as
ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP, FDA
regulations, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and regulatory/legal compliance standards. Experience conducting quality audits and implementing quality management systems. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, manufacturing documents, and production specifications accurately. Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis and problem-solving related to weld defects or non-conformities. Basic math skills for dimensional measurements and data analysis. Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing processes, including precision measurement in machining. Experience with calibration procedures for measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines. Excellent communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate effectively across teams. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to our commitment to manufacturing excellence. Pay:
$35.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 38.0 per week
