Job Description
Overview Element Materials Technology in Baltimore has an opportunity for a Materials Technician II t o join our team. As a member of the operations team in Baltimore, the Materials Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician position must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Salary:
$65,000- $75,000/yr DOE Responsibilities Review and understand customer specifications and / or statements of work to prepare samples and set-up testing Perform preparation and testing with limited supervision Operate under the guidance of a senior test technician and/or a Department Manager Report writing, data interpretation and analysis Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system Skills / Qualifications Working knowledge of laboratory safety HS diploma or GED certificate required, college or vocational school coursework preferred Laboratory experience preferred Possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, laboratory software programs) Familiarity with material properties such as tensile strength, hardness, flexural strength, coefficient of thermal expansion, glass transition temperature, and thermal conductivity Basic understanding of cutting / sample preparation tools Technical writing skills preferred Ability to inspect / analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed into a test report Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
