Job Description

Shape Product Quality, One Measurement at a Time Based in Westminster, MD, you will be the go-to expert who verifies that every mechanical component and assembly meets exacting specifications. Your day moves from blueprint to bench: interpreting drawings, setting up gauges, capturing precise measurements, and partnering with engineering and production to keep quality at the center of everything we ship. A Day in the Life Morning might start with a complex assembly. You'll review the mechanical drawing, confirm tolerances, and perform a full dimensional check using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM. Midday, you'll log inspection findings and flag any nonconformances with crisp documentation. In the afternoon, you might join a root cause discussion with engineers, propose corrective actions, and help refine a control plan or inspection protocol. You'll wrap by updating records and staying current on the latest standards and best practices. Core Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies to verify alignment with drawings, specifications, and standards. Use a range of precision tools and test equipment to assess quality and functional performance. Capture, organize, and maintain accurate inspection data and reports for quality assurance. Work cross-functionally with engineering and production to surface issues and drive resolution. Remain up to date on industry standards and evolving quality methodologies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality/mechanical inspection preferred. Hands-on experience in mechanical inspection or quality assurance within a manufacturing setting. Strong fluency in reading mechanical drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Skilled with measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and a variety of gauges. Exceptional attention to detail paired with solid analytical judgment.
