As an Operator , you'll be responsible for inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) using systems to detect defects early in the manufacturing process. Your keen eye and attention to detail will support maintaining high standards and delivering reliable products. You'll work closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues, verify defect flags, and contribute to ongoing quality improvements. What You'll Do As an Operator, you will be responsible for: Setting up and operating equipment to inspect surface mount and through-hole components accurately. Using magnification tools and microscopes to validate defects flagged by the systems. Differentiating between false calls and genuine defects to ensure quality. Recording inspection results meticulously and reporting findings to production teams. Maintaining and calibrating systems for optimal performance on a daily basis. Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives in the manufacturing process. What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have: Strong attention to detail and keen visual inspection skills. A quality-focused mindset and good organizational habits. Good eyesight and manual dexterity, as visual inspection of small PCB components is essential. Willingness to learn new skills, support other departments, and participate in cross-training. Basic understanding of quality control processes and safety procedures. Nice-to-Haves Experience with PCB manufacturing or electronic assembly. Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers, rulers, and microscopes. Knowledge of IPC standards (610, 770, 700, 7711, 7721) is a plus. Previous experience with first-piece, in-process, audit, and final inspections. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and BOMs. Experience with inspection tools is preferred but not mandatory. Why Join Us in Portland?
