Belleville, MI Shift:
7.00 AM - 3.30 PM [M-F]. Some weekend work is required.
MUST HAVE STEEL TOE SHOES. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG TEST.
Overview We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Sorting Inspector to join our manufacturing quality assurance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, measuring, and verifying components and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality standards and regulatory requirements. Duties Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies using precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems. Interpret mechanical blueprints, production documents, and technical specifications to verify conformity with design intent. Perform quality audits in accordance with
ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP
(Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and FDA regulations to ensure compliance across all production stages. Utilize Calypso software and other quality management systems to document inspection results, track quality metrics, and support data collection efforts. Execute calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments to guarantee accuracy in dimensional measurements and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of quality issues, analyze data for trends, and recommend corrective actions aligned with ISO standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in quality audits, reviewing manufacturing processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory/legal compliance standards. Qualifications Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving medical devices or regulated industries. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with
ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP, FDA
regulations, HACCP, and related quality standards. Proficiency in using measurement instruments such as height gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), vision inspection systems, and precision measuring tools. Experience conducting quality audits and implementing quality systems in accordance with industry best practices. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from measurement instruments and inspection reports. Basic math skills for dimensional calculations and measurements; understanding of GD&T principles is highly desirable. Ability to operate calibration equipment and maintain measurement instruments according to calibration schedules. Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail ensures accurate inspections aligned with regulatory/legal compliance standards.
