Quality Control Technician Description Staff Management | SMX has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician (Night Shift) for our premier food manufacturing client in Brampton, ON. 905-595-0677 Employment Type & Shifts Temp to Hire Temporary or Contract Full Time 2nd Shift 1st Shift 3rd Shift Job Responsibilities Conduct routine line checks for CM and CI business units, including temperature, metal detector verification, weights, pouch integrity, and analytical tests (e.g., brix, pH, viscosity, water activity). Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and chart recorders. Record results on controlled documents accurately. Release batches and perform data entry for Quality In Process (QIP) and Quality Assurance Post-process (QAP). Verify the quality of raw materials and packaging prior to use. Organize documentation and manage uploads to SharePoint. Investigate and report on non-conformances to maintain quality standards. Collect various samples for testing. Monitor allergens and Clean-in-Place (CIP) efficiencies. Participate in environmental programs, customer complaint investigations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) activities. University degree or college diploma in Science (with Concentration in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Microbiology) or Food Science. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control in food or Cosmetics related Industry. Food industry experience considered a strong asset. Strong ability to work independently, multitask effectively in a fast paced environment. Strong numeracy, written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.). Associate Requirements Associates Degree Stand for Shift Duration Must be at least 18 years old The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $20.50 - $21.50 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
