Job Description
SAAB is seeking a Quality Inspector for Incoming Inspection to ensure that parts and materials entering our manufacturing flow meet strict defense and aerospace quality standards. In this on-site role, you will inspect mechanical and electronic components using precision measurement tools, verify conformance to drawings and specifications, and document results in our quality systems. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve supplier issues, support root cause and corrective actions, and help drive continuous improvement in a high-tech, mission-driven environment focused on safety, reliability, and global security. Responsibilities Perform detailed incoming inspections of mechanical and electronic components using gauges, calipers, microscopes, and measurement systems Verify parts and materials against drawings, specifications, and quality standards for defense and aerospace products Document inspection results, nonconformances, and maintain accurate records in quality systems Apply SAAB and industry quality procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve quality issues with suppliers Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for incoming material defects Segregate, label, and control nonconforming materials to prevent use in production Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection methods and reduce defects Handle sensitive and defense-related materials in compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements Use ERP/quality software to log inspections, create reports, and track supplier performance Required Skills Incoming inspection Mechanical and electronic component inspection Use of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) GD&T interpretation Blueprint and technical drawing reading Nonconformance reporting and documentation Quality management systems (ISO 9001/AS9100) ERP/quality software data entry and reporting Root cause analysis and corrective actions Supplier quality support
