$18.00 per hour CDR ProSource is currently seeking an experienced QC Technician for a growing manufacturing client in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This is a first-shift opportunity for an individual with a strong quality background who is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high manufacturing standards. Position Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Quality Control experience (required)
• Experience performing inspections in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret inspection documents, work instructions, and quality specifications
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Comfortable using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production and management Essential Duties & Responsibilities Quality Inspections
• Perform first-piece inspections on all new machine setups, including dimensional, visual, and specification verification.
• Conduct final inspections before products are released for shipment.
• Perform routine spot checks on long-running production jobs based on part criticality.
• Review and verify vacuum oil impregnation tank documentation.
• Verify furnace and sintering logs are completed accurately for product traceability. Chemical & Physical Testing
• Prepare, bag, and label chemical samples for outside laboratory testing.
• Perform physical property testing, including density, crush strength, and oil content.
• Record testing results in the laboratory database and attach certifications to job packets.
• Ensure testing equipment remains properly calibrated. Documentation & Quality Records
• Review production routers and customer orders.
• Apply QC approval stamps and verify all chemical and physical testing requirements during final inspections.
• Complete recipe cards for heat-treat operations.
• Maintain accurate lot traceability documentation. Process Audits & Quality Checks
• Conduct in-process operator audits, including gauge usage and paperwork verification.
• Randomly inspect high-volume production runs to ensure consistency.
• Verify packaging and labeling accuracy prior to shipment.
• Monitor calibration status of production floor gauges. Laboratory & Equipment Maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked QC laboratory.
• Track calibration schedules for inspection equipment.
• Monitor inventory of QC supplies, including gauge oil, labels, and inspection forms. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Immediately report and escalate any nonconforming products or processes.
• Document recurring quality concerns and communicate findings to management.
• Support ISO, ASTM, and MPIF audits by maintaining accurate documentation.
• Assist with Gauge R&R studies.
• Coach production operators on inspection procedures and proper gauge usage.
• Verify incoming raw material certifications against purchase orders.
• Prepare final certification packages for customer shipments.
