Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION
This position consists of taking care: Quality Control Inspector for fast-paced Prototype Body in White environment. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Quality Inspector Job Responsibilities:
Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Quality Inspector Qualifications/Skills:
Written and verbal communication skills Basic math skills Basic computer skills Attention to detail Analytic skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Skills to calibrate and measure specifications, understanding of metrology joining features.
- Ability to navigate cad models Documentation skills Hand/eye coordination Reporting skills Blueprint reading Must be able to handle required lifting weight of up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to make frequent bending and twisting movements and be able to stand for the entirety of your shift.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments Five years' quality inspector experience Standard responsibilities for all UHI employees Follow all employee rules as defined in the UHI employee handbook Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner towards all other employees, customers, and visitors. Perform work in accordance with the Quality System (Procedures, Work Instructions, etc.). Observe all safety rules and regulations. Follow instructions, identify hazards, and notify appropriate personnel to immediately correct the matter. Assist and support other department functions where applicable. Conduct operations in a cost-effective and cost-conscious manner. Assist in identifying any improvements which could lead to cost savings or a process improvement. Perform good housekeeping in perspective work areas, to eliminate any FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
