Job Description
Super Steel Treating is an industry leader in steel coil and bar processing, with all services performed in-house. Super Steel Treating, located in Warren, MI, is looking for a Quality Lab Tech. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to build valuable technical skills in the automotive/manufacturing industry. Job Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
Cut steel samples using a band saw. Prepare samples using grinding, polishing, and laboratory equipment. Use microscopes to inspect steel products. Operate hardness and tensile testing equipment. Perform basic laboratory testing to support production. Record test results and verify that products meet customer specifications. Help keep the lab clean, organized, and operating efficiently. Deliver samples to outside testing laboratories as needed. Support other lab and quality activities as assigned.Qualifications/Experience/Skills & Abilities:
High school diploma or GED. Work experience in a manufacturing or other hands-on environment. 1-2 years' experience in a quality lab preferred. Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment preferred. Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office. Ability to work while standing for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to go up and down stairs throughout the workday. We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and shows up ready to work every day. Comfortable working with tools in a manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented and takes pride in doing quality work. Willing to learn new skills and ask questions. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks that require accuracy and consistency. Able to work independently while also being part of a team. Safety-conscious and willing to follow procedures.Shift:
Full-time, days (6am-2pm) with weekends/overtime expected.Job Type:
